Nepal was hit by two major earthquakes in recent days – one on 25 April 2015 (of 7.8 magnitude), and the other on 21 May 2015 (7.3 magnitude). Our friend, Pastor Samuel Rai, and his colleagues have been involved in relief work. As they move into the final phase of relief work – including rebuilding churches and a Bible school – incoming funds have slowed down.
The north-western Chin State in Myanmar has been badly hit by floods since the end of July 2015, during this rainy season – the worst experienced for a long while. The landslides and mudslides contribute to the disaster, making thousands homeless and without food. The number of deaths is not yet known. Our friend, James Pau, is involved in relief work in the area around Kalemyo, Sagaing State, while our friend Peter Zahau is doing relief work around Falam and the interior villages in Chin State. Pastor Saw Ler Htoo & members of Immanuel Union Church are ministering to those affected in the Irrawaddy Delta.
