We would like to appeal for contributions to the need of one Pastor Rudra Rai of Morang, East Nepal, where I have visited and preached before. Pastor Rudra has been having dialysis treatment costing USD100 each week for his damaged kidneys. He has been instrumental in planting a number of churches and wishes to have his life prolonged until other men are raised up to replace him. He has exhausted all his funds and has been helped by Pastor Samuel Rai who managed to send him a total USD2,500 in recent days. This, of course, eats into Pastor Samuelâs own needs in his massive ministry in Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim and north-east India. Pastor Samuel is arranging for Rudra to be treated in the government hospital in Kathmandu, with dialysis followed by kidney transplant, if feasible. We would like to raise a minimum of USD5,000 to help Pastor Rudra Rai. We are naturally embarrassed to ask for more funds, but we cannot allow Pastor Samuel to bear the burden alone, or to ignore the needs of Pastor Rudra. Before long, we expect to appeal for our own needs to start a theological college, the sum of which is quite massive. For the moment it is Pastor Rudraâs needs that we must focus on.
